SEEN

Terms & Community Guidelines

Last updated: 26 September 2026

1. What SEEN is

SEEN is an anonymous community where people describe real-life situations as Cases and other members act as a Jury, giving a Community Verdict. By creating an account you agree to these terms. Our founding rule: judge the circumstances, not people.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old. One person, one account. Keep your password private.

3. Community Guidelines

To keep SEEN useful and safe, you agree not to:

  • post real names, usernames, phone numbers, addresses, workplaces or anything else that could identify another person — including in screenshots or quoted messages;
  • harass, threaten, shame or target anyone, or encourage others to do so;
  • post hate speech or content that attacks people for who they are;
  • post sexual content involving minors, sexually explicit material, or content promoting self-harm;
  • post anything unlawful, or content you don't have the right to share;
  • spam, advertise, impersonate others, or manipulate votes (for example with multiple accounts);
  • invent a situation to provoke people — Cases should describe something that really happened to you.

Describe what happened, not who someone is. If a Case can be traced back to a specific person, it doesn't belong here.

4. Your content

You own what you post. You give SEEN a non-exclusive licence to store and display your content within the service so it can work. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to post it. You can delete your account at any time in Settings, which deletes your content.

5. Verdicts are opinions, not advice

Community Verdicts and comments are the opinions of anonymous members. They are not facts and are not legal, medical, psychological or professional advice. Decide for yourself. If you are in danger or in crisis, contact your local emergency number (112 in the EU) or a local support service right away.

6. Reporting and moderation

Use the ••• menu on any Case or comment to hide it, report it or block its author. Content that receives several reports is hidden automatically until we have reviewed it. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules — with or without notice where the risk of harm is high. To reach us, email the contact address listed in our Impressum.

7. Availability and liability

SEEN is provided “as is” and may change or be unavailable at times. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for user-generated content or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, or under mandatory consumer-protection rules.

8. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; if a change is material we will tell signed-in users. German law applies, without affecting mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
